What it is

Kept the supplied rig — it's spot on for this one. A Mesa Dual Rectifier into a Mesa 4x12 with V30s is exactly Claudio's territory, and a TS9 set low in front tightens the low end so the galloping D-minor riff stays articulate instead of turning to mush. Slight mid dip with a little low and treble lift for that big Silent Earth: 3 rhythm sound, a −52 dB gate to keep the palm mutes silent between hits, a quarter-note-ish 400 ms delay at low mix and a touch of room so the lead lines and the outro solo have arena air without smearing.

Guitar: your Gibson Explorer — Claudio's own weapon of choice on this record. Bridge humbucker, tone full up for the intro riff and choruses; for the solo flip to the neck and roll the tone back to about 7 for a rounder, vocal lead. Standard tuning is right; the riff sits on the open D-shape, no drop tuning needed.
